OTOSCOPIC SCREEN

Observe recognized procedures for otoscopic examination of the ear and be certain to screen the client’s ear canal for any contraindication.

OTO-BLOCK

Insert an oto-block slightly beyond the second directional bend. We require the entire outer ear and down to the second bend of the ear canal.

BITE-BLOCK

Please use a Bite Block and require the patient to hold the jaw open about 1 inch while the impression cures.

MATERIAL

Use only silicone impressions material. Impressions will not be processed from powder and liquid type materials.

SYRINGE MATERIAL

Syringe the impressions material into the ear, be sure to fill the canal up to the second directional bend, fill the concha completely and over-fill the area between the tragus and helix.

CURATING TIME

Provide ample time for the impressions to cure completely.

CRACKS & VOIDS

Impressions must not contain cracks, ripples or voids as we cannot make up for missing information since it would lead to fit issues.
